
Kateryna Novikova
Kateryna is a student of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Faculty of Psychology. For 3 years in a row, she has been organizing her own social and educational projects aimed at protecting and supporting HIV-positive adolescents throughout Ukraine and the CIS countries, as well as developing projects related to the introduction of the aspect of sex education in Ukrainian society. She has experience of working in the team of the international charity organization “Teenergizer”, where she was an online consultant for HIV-positive youth, author of psychological articles and co-organizer of events such as: “VYcherinka 2018” and “PiknyVIChok 2019”.

The session “Sexual Education of Youth in Ukraine and the World” will focus on the reproductive health of young people, you can share your views on preventive measures to improve the epidemiological situation of the HIV/AIDS epidemic not only in Ukraine but also worldwide. Kateryna will also talk about the emotions and self-perceptions of adolescents living with HIV-positive status. She also compares Ukraine’s experience in counteracting the spread of the HIV/AIDS epidemic with the successful experience of the Scandinavian countries. And to complement the session, she will discuss the digital innovations brought by the quarantine into our daily routines, as one of the methods of prevention and reducing the risk of HIV infection.
